I just finished trekking down to my local grocery store reluctantly to get my flu shot. I'm always reluctant because believe it or not every time I get the flu shot - I get sick. Don't ask me why. I used to stay away from flu shots until my doctor told me I should be getting them since I have asthma and if I ever really got the flu it would be very difficult for me. I told him even when I get the flu shot it's still difficult. I just took a Tylenol as the pharmacist suggested because I know that the usual aches are just around the corner. Hopefully ,I will get by with just a few aches and no fever.
I encourage all of you to consider getting the flu shot especially with that Swine Flu lurking around every corner and ensure our youngest among us are protected as well who can never seem to keep their hands out of their mouths. I constantly chase my 7 year old granddaughter about that. When we go to the mall her hands are all over the handrails of course and then she's ready to go directly to the restaurant to get something to eat and I say "Not so fast young lady - we have yet to make it to the ladies room!" When we exit from the ladies room she's got her hands all over everything again no matter how many times I plead with her not to touch "anything". So back we go to the bathroom. I tell her I will open the door with a paper towel and she is to keep her hands in her pockets until we are seated! They just don't get how important that is. We need to carry wipes etc with us at all times especially in light of this horrible flu. Money, handled by everyone is especially filthy. There are many people who seldom wash their hands even after using the restroom. I've seen it with my own eyes and no doubt you have as well. I'm sure that does NOT apply to this audience. Can you imagine what is on the money we all carry around in our wallets? How gross is that? Be safe out there!
